RPSS recently contracted with the Etowah County E9-1-1 District to replace their current Call Taking systems with new IP Capable Solacom ESP Guardian solutions. This project will include replacement of the Districts two existing Positron Lifeline systems with two standalone Solacom Guardian systems. The Etowah County Main PSAP will house one of the systems with five Call Taking positions and the second system will be located at the Gadsden Police Department with five Call Taking positions. The District also has four secondary/remote PSAPs that will be connected to the Etowah County Main PSAP and the configuration includes deploying IP phones with ALI displays at each of the four sites. The contract also includes the replacement of the Power Map and CAD at the Etowah County Main PSAP with a new CAD and Map application from GeoConex. Implementation is scheduled to start January 2012.
